Friday Random Ten- BSW Edition

As of 3:30 pm last night, I am now Krista Long, BSW. I still have assignments I am finishing, and I have orientation for EMPACT on Monday. I should receive my diploma in a couple of months. As soon as I get the video (I keep checking the web site), I will post it!

On to the mix:

  1. Loquebantur Variis Linguis The Tallis Scholars
  2. Memories of Green Vangelis
  3. Water Shows the Hidden Heart Enya
  4. Hula Blues Jon Rauhouse
  5. You Can Be As Loud As the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love) Avenue Q
  6. Fever Ray Charles
  7. Final Heartbreak Jessica Simpson
  8. Michael Antigone Rising
  9. Colonel Bogey San Diego Symphony Pops
  10. Right Where I Belong 3 Doors Down
The usual eclectic mix. Starts out gentle, then gets rowdy. Meanwhile, may I just say that the Jessica Simpson track is from Rugrats in Paris and is, therefore, NOT MINE! ;) I sometimes feel the need to defend my music- LOL.

  9. Reunion - Indigo Girls
  10. Doesn't Remind Me - Audioslave
The only problem with this method is that it doesn't show the little guys I listen to. So here are a couple of Youtubes, some in honor of St. Patrick's.

Paul Knight at Into the Bean, Mesa, AZ:

Tristan Schwartz & Paul Knight:

Shay Veno at O'Connor's Pub:

And in honor of our recent trip, and a song I frequently apply to Phoenix:

Sugarcult- Los Angeles

Ouch- Kind of went Overboard. Sorry! Happy St. Patrick's Day-
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Photo Hunt: Wooden

Theme for February 23: Wooden

Chris took this picture St. Patrick's Day 2007. It is of a good friend of ours, Jane Hilton, playing with her band, the Waywards. The fiddle is one of the most beautiful wooden instruments in my eyes. Watching her play is mesmerizing.
From St Pats
And as a bonus, a couple songs from that day:

Konal's 7th Grade Band Concert

Definitely gaining in skill, but I realized after I got there, that even though I brought the camera, I forgot the memory card. This clip courtesy of my cell phone.
Spent a busy day with Appointments and working on the MISS foundation legislative web site. Lots of fun :)

Tori Amos Bliss

For Christmas, Chris bought us tickets to go see Tori Amos in concert. That was tonight, and it was so awesome. I laughed, I cried, I engaged in heroine worship. Here are some crummy pics from my cell phone. I love how she makes love to her microphone and instruments...

Update: I just purchased the original bootleg for the concert, and it came with these lovely shots:

Different Wings

Trans-Siberian OrchestraDifferent Wings

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Dream, child
As childhood wants to do

Dream all this night will allow
Dream, child
Dream with an angel's view
Out there safe in your clouds

Wait for me now
I will be there for you
No matter what
Tomorrow may bring
This I will vow
I will be there
For this child with different

Dream, child
Stars have been rumored to
See dreams within newborn eyes
And in their arms i believe they do
Keep safe until you arise

Wait for me now
I will be there for you
No matter what
Tomorrow may bring
This I will vow
I will be there
For this child with different wings

Seein' things I never thought I'd see happen to me....

Summer Fly
Words And Music By:
Cheryl Wheeler

In another younger day I could dream the time away
In the universe inside my room
And the world was really mine from june to september
And if it wasn't really so I was lucky not to know
And I was lucky not to wonder why
'cause a pure and golden high is all that I remember

A summer fly was buzzin' every night
When I was young
In the gentle world my childlike senses knew
And the world was just my cousin
And the wind was just the tongue
In the voice my lonely moments listened to

And I look at me today all the dreams have gone away
And I'm where I never thought I'd be
Seein' things I never thought I'd see happen to me
And I lay awake at night till the darkness goes to light
Hearin' voices callin' out my name
Dronin' over and again the same message to me

Cryin' who's your partner, who's your darlin', who's your baby now?
Who wakes up at night to pull you in
It don't matter, you just make her lonely anyhow
Don't know why you even try to win

Theme Song

Your Theme Song is Back in Black by AC/DC

"Back in black, I hit the sack,
I've been too long, I'm glad to be back"
Things sometimes get really crazy for you, and sometimes you have to get away from all the chaos.
But each time you stage your comeback, it's even better than the last!

I am thinking about doing the 7 things meme that is going around, but maybe tomorrow.

The Model of a Psychopharmacologist

I wish Konal's doctor had this kind of humor. Should I be worried I understood all the terms and am familiar with the book he referenced?

Who Do You Want To Be Today

Oingo BoingoWho Do You Want to Be

A conversation on a friends blog reminded me of this lovely song. I want to be me, but sometimes I really don't know who that is.

(If you aren't one of the many who know, I have always had a ridiculously huge crush on Danny Elfman.)

NaBloPoMo- Day 9

Wedding Edition

Not much of import to note today. I worked a Charity Golf Tournament- as part of my internship with the MISS Foundation- because of which I got 4 hours of sleep last night.

I went directly from there to a wonderful wedding. There was much laughter, geekery, punnage, music, and friendship.

And, oh, hey- I caught the bouquet!!!

More in depth things to note later, since I am getting in under the wire for today.
