Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Blog Talkers #65

Did I really skip that many? Wow. Happy Easter to those of you celebrating. I decided to post something happy today.

Flowers. Do you like flowers? When is the last time you received flowers? When is the last time you sent someone flowers? Do you think purchasing flowers is a waste of money? Do you garden? What is your favorite flower?
I adore flowers. It may be a bit girly of me, but I don't care. I have my rose by my front door that I have carefully cultivated in the desert heat, and I used to have beds and beds of flowers in more hospitable climates.

I think Chris is the last person that bought me flowers. I am not exactly sure, but he has bought me them, so I will stick with that. I buy them for myself more often. I think the happiness that it brings looking at them is worth the money spent.

I sent my Dad a potted plant when he was in the hospital after a knee replacement. That was just a few months ago.

And my favorite flower? Roses, especially yellow and orange ones. I love the fiery looking Roses. I used to be on the Floriculture team in High School years and years ago, and did some flower arranging and a lot of flower judging. I have a soft spot for the spring flowers too. Jonquils, Daffodils, Tulips, Lilies of the Valley- all in my favorites. I love the smell of jasmine and honeysuckle.

And courtesy of Dan, here is my new March:
