Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Truffle Blogging

Or "How a bad day was brightened"

It was a long day today. I had an 8:30 meeting and I didn't get to bed until 1 am. Then I had coffee with Chris, and went to another meeting that lasted until 2:30. Fought the I-10 home for an hour, ran an errand, then picked up mom from work.

When I stumbled in the door, there was a nondescript brown package from UPS waiting for me.

This is what was inside:
From Feb

2 sets of handmade Bittersweet, Raspberry, Jenna's Ginger and Sofia's Mexicali Spice truffles. One set was promptly put away to give to Konal's staff persons. I had intended them for Christmas presents, but they are good anytime.

But the second was for us!

I immediately grabbed a ginger truffle, because I adore ginger.

It was wonderful!!!

I gave both Raspberry to mom, and think that the ginger one was my dinner. I am sitting here full.

Thank you, Minstrel Boy! I know Konal's Staff will appreciate them, and they were a wonderful pick me up after a very long week.

On a side note, I also received some cards to help pass out and fundraise for Team Didie. Please go read Didie's story and see if you can help out too.
