Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

10 Things I Dislike About Politics

Ten on Tuesday

  1. It can divide families and ruin perfectly good family meals.
  2. The feeling when you believe in someone and they are not the person you thought they were.
  3. The fact that my career depends on politics.
  4. Being lied to.
  5. The deal-making that must be done to get truly good legislation passed.
  6. That people feel they have no voice in the process and grow apathetic.
  7. The demonization of the other side that goes on.
  8. The fact that keeping up with it seems to take a lot of my spare time.
  9. Phone calls, phone calls, and more phone calls
  10. Military spending.
