Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Monday Positives

So I stumbled across a link for a meme that promoted Monday Positives. The meme seems to be dead, but I see no reason why I can't just make Monday a positive day here without the fancy links and graphics.

Last night, Chris and I went to a wedding. It is one of many at this time, and it seems like each time, the pressure for Chris to propose keeps increasing. Some of the pressure, admittedly, comes from me.

But, do I really need him to propose to me? I think that what we have is pretty special and uplifting. The commitment is already there, without the trappings.

Today's Monday Positive is that I truly, madly, deeply love my partner and that love is returned. We communicate, compromise, and forgive each other's faults (even when the person won't forgive themselves).

We are at 2 1/2 years, and I don't see an end in sight.
