Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Selfcare

NaBloPoMo- Day 28

Almost done, and going strong. I have made at least one post everyday, if not within my rules, within their rules. It has been a journey and very insightful. As much as I enjoy exploring who I am outside of my role as "mother", I am, first and foremost, a mother.

I have made another realization. I will do better as a mother if I take care of myself.

Things I have and are doing:

  1. I bought me some Christmas Candles. It is an addiction. I recognize this. Deal.
  2. I am going to Yoga at the Y tomorrow. (This may change, I had a child home sick).
  3. I am going to baby step back into routines with FlyLady.
  4. I am going to take BlueBeeGirl up on her offer of Poi Lessons. I may be graceless, but it will be fun. Now I just need to figure out how.
  5. I am not going to feel guilt when I do something fun for myself, such as going out with Chris, or going to a class, or out with friends.
  6. I am going to see Tori Amos on December 11th. SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
  7. I am paying more attention to my health.
More to come, but it is late, and sleep helps.
