Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Camping

October Camping
Oct 7, 2006 - 18 Photos

Friday, Saturday and Sunday Chris and I took Konal and Aidan camping at Woods Canyon Lake. We had good times and bad, and there were several learning experiences, including running out of wood and propane, not bringing enough warm clothes and blankets, Mom (me) forgetting her jacket, and mom dropping the camera into the lake. Luckily, the camera survived.

I promised the kids that next trip will be somewhere around Phoenix or south (it was VERY cold). I also realized we need to bring some activities for them. They are city kids raised on video games, and could not seem to entertain themselves without getting into trouble.

My rental truck was very useful, and I may consider renting a vehicle for the weekend next trip. I turned in the truck today and will miss it.
