Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Summer and sickness do not mix

I had to pick up Aidan from his summer program early today. He threw up all over himself, the poor guy.

Then, after Konal got home from his Middle School program (I have to keep repeating that to myself- Middle School), he started to feel poorly. I had made a huge dinner of chicken, pasta salad and baked beans, and only Nana and I ate it.

Mom injured herself a week or so ago, so now the tables are turned and I am waiting on her, like she did for me when I injured my ACL.

The boys are already bored because of the heat advisories. Aidan's multi-sport camp has been watching movies, because they are not allowed outside. There is only so much time we can spend at the pool.

I am job hunting again. Not very hard yet, because I am seriously thinking of trying for a campus job at ASUWest. I hate constantly doing the money shuffle and never having enough. There really isn't a lot I can do because of Konal and the level of care he requires, but I need at least a bit more. I would like to be able to pay more of my car expenses, and help Mom out with the bills more.

I did apply at the county library. I am overqualified, but it would be fun shelving books part time.

I probably should post more, but I have been stepping away from the computer more and spending time with the boys, stitching, cooking (homemade ice cream- yum) and generally living life.

I guess that would be good news!
