Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

More Cross Stitch stuff

I did a lot of stitching last night. Being sick helps, because you don't want to move. On one of my cross stitching groups, the subject of pinheading was brought up. This is wrapping a small stitch around the threads of the fabric in such a way as to secure it without a knot. I am going to have to experiment with this, since it might solve the problem I am having securing the silk thread on my kitty project.

The exploration of the technique led me to Shay Pendray, which then led me to her books- and yet another opportunity to spend money I don't have!

The best part is that it is from Piecework Magazine, which is my favorite magazine- ever! My subscription has lapsed, so when I am doing better, I will have to do some issue backordering as well as getting a new subscription.

Then her other book, which is again something I am drooling over:

So, the final result of this adventure is that I have several more things added to my wishlist. I have gotten to the point I have had to categorize my wishlists. I will probably need to do it again.
