Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Drooling over cross stitch

Yet again, I find myself drooling over patterns I don't possibly have the time to ever stitch. In the stitching world this is called stash. When you actually buy something, it is referred to as S.E.X.- Stash Enhancement Experience. WIP's are works in Progress and UFO's are unfinished Objects. Anyone who crafts, especially obssessively, should be familar with these cultural trends.

I want to have S.E.X. I have been drooling over Heaven and Earth Designs again and found a couple of patterns I am almost orgasmic over (to continue the metaphors...).
This beauty is called Dragon Knot. It is $15 USD if you have the regular size chart e-mailed to you (which I prefer- since I can print as many copies as I need to do the design). It is now officially on my wish list.

Then there is this one:
This darling child is Ageless. Once again $15 (standard for HAED) and on my someday list.

The Nashville Market just finished and all the new designs and limited editions are out. Stitching Bits and Bobs has a great Market Report. Of note are the Fantasy Faire '06 Christmas Ornanments for only $50. (cough, cough) They are numbered limited editions. I really want last year's though- and there are still some left. I can't justify the expenditure at this time.

I love the saying on this one:

My problem is that I am not a huge fan of Asian themes. This one is nice, but my stitching time is precious, and I don't want to waste it on a pattern I am not in love with (not counting gifts for other people)

I am currently working on Farewell Words and Konal's Excavator. Both can be seen in my needlework section of my site. I should start to track hours on them. I am off to go browse in HAED some more. I may find my very next project, or not.
