Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

I love the Rain

Well, the trampoline is still not all the way done. It is raining very steadily right now. The good news is that I only have two more steps left on the safety net. A miracle happened. My children cleaned their room. That's right, folks, it's a miracle! I actually was able to vacuum and dust and do all those mom things in there. Tomorrow all the Christmas decorations come down. I want my living room back to normal. I am enjoying the break from school. Not only am I getting regular stuff, like dishes, done, but I am also getting a lot of special projects done. I am almost caught up getting all the picture CD's I had floating around online. I got the Cub Scout site completely updated. I am working on getting all the picture prints I have in albums and put away, and that enormous stack of misc paperwork that was threatening to take over my room is halfway gone.

Now, if I get the garage cleaned and the bathroom re-caulked and re-painted, I will start the next semester with a clear conscience.

I am struggling right now. Last semester was very hard, and I had trouble making it, although my grades don't show it. I only had 3 classes. I am trying to decide if I can manage 4 classes. I think I could, because things are in place that weren't before. I just don't want to try and have everything fall apart.

I need to see how much money I will be bringing in on this contract. If I get a lot of work, I will not be able to do 4 classes. On the other hand, I just went over my transfer sheet and I only need 4 more classes if I take the three I am signed up for. If that is the case, I should take the 4, then I can do the three in the summer, walk away with my associates degree (finally a piece of paper of some kind after 10 years of college) and start at ASU West in the fall.

I have 2 weeks to make up my mind. Right now I have my next social work class, Public Speaking and Political Science. I would add Human Anatomy if I take 4 classes.

I would just have Statistics, Women's Studies and Sociology left after that.....

I am undecided.
