Return to Krista's Korner

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the well being of our own children is intimately linked to the well being of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. When one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will commit it. The good life for our own children can be secured only if it is also secured for all other people's children. But to work for the well being of all children is not just a practical matter-- it is also right!" - Lilian G. Katz, Phd.

Let the fights begin

Konal strikes again. On (Now Last week- I have had a busy week) Tuesday, my darling, sweet, innocent child decided that I was an abusive mother and called 911 and hung up. I spoke to the 911 operator and let her know the situation. He was refusing to do his homework and had grabbed my car keys and was heading out the door.

I will admit I lost my temper, and while physically wrestling with the child, I hit him on the head (not hard- I described it as a biff). His response was telling me that I am a horrible mother and that I deserve to go to jail.

Anyway, the police were required to come out and check. Konal told the police that I hit him 15 times. They listened to me and were very nice, but I am fairly sure they will be filing a report with CPS.
Then on Wednesday, the ex came over to help out, but I still ended up restraining the child.

I was very thankful for Friday.

Saturday, I had a great night at O'Connors, even though I was severely lacking in sleep.

Sunday was the Irish festival. I took the boys, but had to work at 3:30. This started my new improved schedule.

Monday and tuesday were hectic. It took me two hours to vote on Tuesday, and Bush still won :(.

Wednsday, I woke up feeling like crap. The boys weren't doing well either. I called out from work and was read the riot act by the store manager. went to the Dr and found out I had bronchitis (as well as the boys.)

Went back to work on Thursday, but stayed home from school.

Slept most of today, which was supposed to be my day off. Ran errands, and ended up agreeing to work at 6:30 PM.

Took the boys to go see The Incredibles. It gets 5 stars from this mom.

Tomorrow, I have school, a paper to write, and one of my best girlfriend's bachelorette party at Anderson's 5th Estate. I need a day to just relax and get caught up.

Meanwhile- I haven't read my e-mail ( and I promised a good friend advice) and my homework has hit the toilet in frequency and quality of effort on my part. Dishes and laundry need to be done.

Oi!
